YOU ARE THE HYPE MAN OF YOUR BUSINESS
Yesterday February 24, 2022, made it one month since Atlas Cargo Express started operation as a logistics and delivery company. A few things have gone through my mind and one of them is if we have done well with the number of deliveries done so far since the first day we opened our doors for business.
I have tried to find out the numbers other logistics businesses did for their first month but I am yet to find any. Whatever the case, I am grateful for the first numbers we have; as of yesterday, we completed 73 deliveries. I have given thanks to God for this great and amazing feat.
However, I forgot to mention it to our rider yesterday but this morning I did and he responded with something that looked like an “Ok” or “wow, that’s good”. That’s all.
His response can mean many things and could have been influenced by anything going through his mind but one thing stood out for me. I realized that I am the hype that the business needs; the staff can be laid back and for them to have the burning desire to remember such milestones I have to imprint it on their minds.
For your employees to start seeing the business as part of theirs, you have to be the one to lead that charge as a business owner. There are many ways to do it; treat them better, remind them that this company is theirs, give them benefits, offer equity, build a culture of ownership in everyone, and a lot more. Whichever option you choose, the bottom line is that as a business owner you are the hype man of your business.
They have to see the commitment and drive in you as well and when they do it might then transfer to them.
Remember, you are the hype man of your business, and your responsibility to make your employees start feeling the same way too.
