THE YING AND YANG OF A RELATIONSHIP — Issue #4
The Ying and Yang concept is a Chinese concept that talks about two different entities that complement each other. In other words, they come together to strengthen and work in synergy with one another. Seeing the diagram below that represents it, you will understand fully how this works based on the symbol. This concept is the same for relationships or marriages.
The Bible in talking about a man cleaving to his wife talks about a coming together that if broken can cause damage to each of them. So is the Ying and Yang phenomenon, you cannot have one without seeing the other. Some believe that with constant gazing on the symbol, it will get to a point when one colour like white overshadows the black one.
How then does this apply to relationships? How can two partners complement each other? How do they get to a point where one cannot do without the other or you cannot find one without the other?
For women, how do you compliment your man?
Men are logical beings, they need to think things through, they analyze, and they prefer to make decisions based on facts, numbers, frequency of occurrence and more. They also are enterprising people, their work is very important to them; they love their financial matters and gist with colleagues and associates. With the bustle and hustle of life, trying to make things happen, a desire to achieve; they need a woman that will inspire them, be a diehard fan of theirs, someone that will tell them how much of a good thing their work, product and service is. If they know that, you being the woman is cheering them up and proud to talk about them with friends that alone can push them to do more no matter how bad any recession can be.
Even after a hard day’s job, they need someone to pet them not nag at them; a bad day of business is demoralizing enough but you the woman can help ease it by assuring them that things will be better the next time. For one who is logical in thinking, he can feel doubtful because of facts (figures) not adding up; a woman of faith (who believes beyond facts) can be a strong pillar of support. Yes, he can say based on this government policy or that, this will not work but a woman of faith, who believes in possibilities can help them look beyond what is seen.
As a woman, you also need to make him feel like a king. Try to please and make him feel like the leader over you. He might not see it as anything with you calling him sir, he might caution you not to but if you can insist on it, it does a lot in caressing their ego to love you more. You have placed them high they will not like you to be hurt for one moment.
For men, how do you compliment your woman?
A man needs to understand this; women are highly and deeply emotional and if you understand this character in them, then you are halfway to satisfying them. It is the emotions that make them want to talk to you about something even when you are trying to close a deal in business. Do not risk it, sit down and listen to them. Yes, they can talk, talk, come back to the same issue, and even say it differently; you need to listen.
As a man, you might not sometimes pay attention to details like dressing properly or cleaning your shoes or combing your hair; but your woman can practically want to do that even in the weirdest of places. You can imagine her pulling out a comb on your head, relax and let her do her thing. If she says, wear this when coming to see her friends or family, better comply and exceed her expectations.
Eat her food, do not eat and work if you do not want what you did not bargain for. Avoid littering the house with your shoes and belts and shirts. In fact, learn where she keeps her things, observe so that when she is there or not, you will keep it just as she wants it. If there is anything, you know that can irritate her, avoid it completely because the irritation ends up being emotionally interpreted.
In addition, of course, you need to compliment her attire, her food, her make-up, and her hair (if you can surprise her with that expensive one) and there is everything sweet in buying her personal effects occasionally rather than just handing out monies for it.
Let me shock you, if a woman really loves you, most of them do not mind you sitting at home with them or spending time with them even when you have a million-dollar deal to close. Rather than being egoistic about it, talk about it, convince her, take her permission when you have to work on Saturday, plead and beg her as if she is your boss; that’s an emotional appeal in action. Avoid being a man all the time and try to be a baby more where they are.
Finally, a relationship is a two-way thing, as a woman you need to do your part and you the man, do yours with all diligence. Women are fragile beings and just like flowers, if you treat them right they will bloom and if you do not, they wilt. An emotionally broken woman can affect you as you chase that money. Balance up as you live your life.
